On Saturday 29th June 2019, Plymouth Hoe will host Armed Forces Day 2019.
The event will start with a Parade of Standards as veterans and cadets march across the promenade. This family fun-packed day will include unarmed combat displays by 30 CDO Stonehouse Royal Marines, the tri-service field gun competition, the City of Plymouth Pipe Band and the marching band of the Royal Marines Plymouth, not to mention exciting aerial displays from the Navy Wings Heritage Flight Sea Fury, followed by a flypast an RAF Spitfire plane. The closing display will be by the RAF Red Arrows who will be performing for the first time since their appearance at Armed Forces Day in 2012. The Military Wives Choir and the Community Military Kids Choir will perform on the main stage and later in the evening a free concert will entertain the crowds with a range of live music to suit everyone.
There will be plenty of opportunity to meet serving military personnel who can provide information on recruitment and also to meet veterans in the veterans village, which is supported by the Royal British Legion. The emergency services and various charities and organisations, vehicles and equipment will also be on display.
Its a fantastic opportunity to show our support for the Armed Forces Community.
