On Sunday 13th October our Office Manager Sarah Buchanan is taking part in the 5k Commando Challenge in aid of The Royal Marines Charity and Devon Air Ambulance Trust. She is part of a 3-woman team called The Green Goddesses – who are all “ladies of a certain age” married to or partners of former Royal Marines Commandos.
The Commando Challenge has taken place on the Royal Marines Endurance Course on Woodbury Common, near Lympstone in Devon for the past 25 years. In this time thousands of people have crawled, ran, swam and struggled through the mud and obstacles of the famous assault course, all in the name of charity. Over its 25-year history, the event has raised over £5 million.
The Endurance Course will take Sarah, Shirley and Nita across the rough moorland and woodland of Woodbury Common, which includes tunnels, pipes, wading pools and an underwater culvert.
The even itself is held over the whole weekend but the ladies will start their challenge at 12:02 on Sunday. If you are in the area and would like to come and support the event, there is an Event Village at Bicton Arena with lots to do and see.
If you feel you would like to sponsor Sarah and the team, please visit the link below or make a pledge by emailing Sarah at sjb@kingsols.co.uk
All funds raised will go to these two very worthy causes and help make a real difference to peoples’ lives.
WISH THEM LUCK!!
