Garry White

Garry is a highly experienced freelance Bookkeeper who we welcomed to the firm in October 2020.

He has worked for the legal profession for many years, not only in a Bookkeeping capacity but also as a Finance Co-Ordinator and Compliance and Training Manager. His broad knowledge of legal bookkeeping plays a vital role in ensuring we remain compliant with the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s Accounts Rules while maintaining the accounting function of the firm and providing billing support for all our fee earners.

Ellie Buchanan

Ellie is our Receptionist. An art graduate with a strong background in design, customer service and hospitality, she joined us in November 2024 and is usually the first point of contact when you call or visit us.

Ellie is responsible for maintaining all aspects of a busy reception and is often involved in projects with our Practice Manager.

A popular and capable member of our team, Ellie also provides secretarial support to our Litigation Department.

 

Hannah Dunn

Hannah joined us in 2007, after working for local Government.

She is our Wills and Probate Assistant and works closely with Ailsa Tatton-Shell in our Estates department. Using her knowledge and skills sensitively and diligently, Hannah ensures that our clients’ matters progress as smoothly as possible during what can often be a difficult time.

A popular and talented member of our team, Hannah has recently returned to the office following a three-year secondment to the USA with her husband and young family.

Simon Browner

Consultant Solicitor

Simon Browner qualified as a Solicitor in 1981 and has been practicing Law in Devon since 1987.

He was a partner in a Plymouth firm for many years and has specialised in civil litigation and dispute resolution for most of his professional life. His current workload includes contractual disputes, employment tribunals, debt recovery, contentious probate, landlord and tenant issues and professional negligence claims.

Simon is a Grade A Consultant Solicitor with a personable style of giving expert, no-nonsense advice. This, together with his resolute approach has been a determining factor in bringing a substantial number of our clients’ matters to a successful conclusion without the need for Court Proceedings. Both he and we were delighted when he joined us in 2010. 

Ailsa Tatton-Shell

Consultant Solicitor

Ailsa qualified as a Solicitor in 1990. She has specialised in Wills, Probate and Trust Law for over 35 years, practicing predominantly in Devon and Somerset.

Ailsa is a Grade A Consultant Solicitor and we are delighted to have her with us on a Monday, Wednesday and Thursday each week where she provides skilled, sensible and straightforward advice to a wide variety of clients on all aspects of Wills, Powers of Attorney, Probate and IHT planning.

Richard King

Consultant Solicitor

Richard is the former Director of our Company and since handing the reins to Peter Redmond, takes on the role of Consultant Solicitor. He was admitted as a Solicitor in July 1969 after 5 years’ Articles in a major London firm, where he became a Litigation Partner. 

With a wealth of over 50 years’ experience in the legal sector he is a Grade A Solicitor, predominantly responsible for private client work and residential and commercial conveyancing, which includes but is not limited to, house sales and purchases, re-mortgages, transfers of equity, commercial sales and purchases and leases

Peter Redmond is the Managing Director of Kings Solicitors, appointed in February 2025.

With nearly a decade of legal practice at respected firms such as Hine Solicitors, Coffin Mew (now Knights plc) and Dutton Gregory. Peter brings deep expertise in conveyancing and property law.
